Could Boards of Canada have any connections with the Illuminatis?
Well, my friend and I were discussing about conspiracy, notably about the Illuminatis ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illuminati ) and the mysteries behind Boards of Canada. As we know, Boards of Canada are PROBABLY linked with the Branch Davidians, because their track title "Amo Biship Roden", being a women with an important role in that organization, and the lyrics on "In A beautiful Place Out In The Country", which say "Come out and live with a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country". My friend was explaining how the Illuminatis had influence on economy and how often they use eye symbols.
What tickled me was the eye on the National Filmboard of Canada logo. This is perhaps coincidence with the famous eye from the Illuminatis, as you would think. Maybe is the NFB secretly controlled by the Illuminatis, for the purpose of controlling our education, or something like that. It might sounds stupid, but I have other arguments.
Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin both live in the middle of nowhere in the country, isolated from anyone. Almost none of their fans have seen them in real life for sure. They want to hide from public for an unknown reason, which is probably for doing their Illuminatis or Branch Davidian activities. The conspiracy behind Geogaddi, their hidden files on their website and also on their Invocation music video particularly attracted my attention.
No one you would expect could be a member of a such organization. I find this weird they have such a huge success for such a lost band, to be honest. |

BoC is inspired by National film Board of Canada -- that's where they got the idea for their name as well. |

it looks like it went in the bin! But it was crap
when i listen back lol! saw christ at the talbot in stoke

Hi, can anyone confirm that there was a third member of boc that went on to
become Christ? I'm led to believe his name is Chris Horne, if this is ture
then i'm a bit spooked, I've loved Boc for about 6 years now and have never
bothered to look up anything about the band, to my amazement I have the exact
same name...Chris Horne! |

| On the subject of song title meanings, I'm pretty convinced that Turquoise Hexagon Sun is probably related to a psychedelic drugs experience, most likely on psilocybin mushrooms. I know that BoC are very into geometry and mathematics and I will bet my bottom dollar this is probably related to drug experiences. I have taken 'shrooms a good many times and geometric shapes, especially hexagons, are frequently seen, especially as closed eye visuals (CEVs). I would like to add that BoC's music has enhanced many of my trips into inner space and find the music very evocative whilst under the influence, and has on occasions induces synaesthesia. I often see BoC's music as a constant stream of colours, more often than not a neon violet colour. Now you probably all think I'm round the bend... |

amazing site sir.
um on 'aquarius', it had never occured to me that the line at the end was anything other than 'we'll sail to the stars'. now, i'm not sure. does this sound reasonable? |

This site is wonderful, and I eventually found the information I needed. The words to One Very Important Thought had always confused me a bit...I kept hearing ...back next year... as ...that austere/obscure/???... and mainly want to say thanks for clarifying that.
A questionably reliable source once told me that the 'third member who was kicked out for doing too many drugs' (his exact words) was releasing music under the name The New Christ, but my searches only ever revealed tracks by The New Christy Minstrels. |

Hi ! Just to let you know that apparently the artwork from their latest album is inspired -no to say "copied"- by this
IMHO there's no coincidence.
Hope it will interest you :-) |

| Hey, I was just letting you know that in the Geodaddy album, in the song 1969, at 2:52 there seems to be a very distinct woman's voice saying "Come with me forever baby" or something along those lines. I realized that when I was smoking some stuff last night and I listened to it again, sober, and I can barely hear it, but when I am intoxicated I can hear it perfectly clear. Just wanted to let you know. |

| Yes, the old tunes are great compilations. 'Statue Of Liberty', 'Sequoia', 'M9', 'BMX Track'& 'Fly In The Pool' are amongst my favourites! I hope to find more rare songs of boards in the future. They should concider re-issues of their early work (Catalog 3 - Hooper Bay). A big fan!!! SC |
